Hanazono was put on the map by the clever marketing of Nihon Harmony, arguably one of the main catalysts for the sudden interest in the Niseko area amongst Australian visitors.

Hanazono does not have the large scale developments, restaurants, bars, nightlife or infrastructure of Hirafu but instead, it offers a world-class golf course, a leafy residential area and plenty of potential with the ongoing construction by PCPD-owned Nihon Harmony.

The ski hill is part of the Niseko Grand Hirafu ski resort and lies on the north eastern side of the mountain; it has limited on-piste runs but some fine off-piste terrain. There are three main lifts servicing Hanazono and it is easy to get across to Hirafu from the top of the ski hill.

With the completion of the Hanazono 308 welcome centre, this area is slowly growing each year and the summer activities now include rafting, an air bag jump and mountain biking.

Much of the available real estate in Hanazono is located in the nearby North Hills, a charming holiday retreat area with large plots and beautiful houses such as Solitude, below. There are some plots of land along the roads leading to the resort such as Hanazono Golf, below. Further up the mountain road around Mt Annupuri, there are some exclusive and exciting plots such as Hanazono Panorama, below. Hanazono Hills, a large area, has been beautifully master planned and will make the developed area of Hanazono larger than the entire of Hirafu.

Land prices in Hanazono have shown steady growth and this area offers great value for those looking for larger plots, wooded surrounds and a more uniformed construction approach. It also offers good long-term potential thanks to the nearby planned developments.
